Our industry is in a transformative period. So are we...
We stated last year that the Twin Cities Unified Theatre Auditions (TCUTAs) would be returning with a new name.
Along with this name change we intended to expand our offerings to include more opportunities throughout the year and to foster a more responsive and intersectional performing arts community.
Welcome to the newly named...
INTERROGATING THE INDUSTRY
The global pandemic made all that we had grown accustomed to in live performance all but impossible. This has forced almost every individual in our industry to change, adapt and reflect. Through this time of collective reflection, many of the systemic problems within our industry became more evident than ever.
Join CLIMB Theatre through the Third Coast Unified Theatre Artists Series as we collectively and collaboratively interrogate our industry with the goals of taking actionable and immediate steps towards systemic change in the performing arts industry!
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU...
We recognize the fact that our organizations... our industry... and our institutions are made up of INDIVIDUALS.
We believe that work centered in the collective contributions of practitioners of the collaborative arts is the most powerful and sustainable form of SOCIAL JUSTICE WORK.
Through the Third Coast Unified Theatre Artists Series, CLIMB Theatre, will hold the following commitments to the highest standard to ensure that individuals from every aspect of the performing arts industry are equitably positioned to continually evolve and improve the performing arts industry:
1. INTENTIONAL INTERSECTIONALITY
2. GLOBAL ACCESSIBILITY
3. RADICAL TRANSPARENCY
4. EMBRACING IMPERFECTIONS
5. FUTURE CENTERED
THERE'S NO COST TO JOIN THE EVOLUTION!
Without you there is no TCUTAS.
Interrogating the Industry One Question At A Time...
We aim to be reflective, but not at the expense of being responsive. To do this, we need a diverse cross section of industry professionals to join us in conversation and in action.
To this end, we will be hosting monthly gatherings that will be inquiry based with an outcome of tangible and immediate suggested actions for individuals and institutions.
In line with or commitment to Intentional Intersectionality, our gatherings, by design, will foster spaces where multiple perspectives, affinities, and levels of experience can engage with each other.
In line with our commitment to being Future Centered, the outcomes of these gatherings will always include immediate actionable tasks for individuals and organizations. When it applies to organizations, CLIMB is committed to applying and modeling those actions organizationally.
Be Part of the Interrogations
There are more questions than answers and we want to explore as many as possible. Have a question that you think is important? Contribute it here!
As we strive towards a more sustainable hiring model, we have made the decision to postpone our in-person auditions and callbacks...
This decision is to ensure the safety of everyone involved while allowing us the time to make needed adjustments in order to re-emerge with a group audition format that truly lives up to our mission.
In line with our commitment to Global Accessibility, we will return with a format that aims to eradicate socio-economic, geographic, and other barriers that exist under the traditional hiring models of the theatre industry.
In line with our commitment to Intentional Intersectionality, we are dedicated to ensuring that ALL roles within our industry are represented and can realistically find opportunities for work within our industry.
***In regards to the producers or actors who paid for 2 years in 2021, we will honor that at our next live audition.***
